Fire Safety Policy

Saint Peter’s University students are not permitted to violate local, state, and federal fire safety policies. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Possession and/or use of flammable materials, prohibited items, or items that operate with an open flame (e.g., grills, lanterns, candles, incense, or hookah)
  • Unintentionally starting a fire
  • Intentionally starting a fire
  • Pulling a false fire alarm
  • Tampering or disabling fire safety equipment (e.g., smoke detectors, extinguishers, emergency exit doors
  • Failing to evacuate during a fire alarm or fire drill

Failure to comply with this policy may result in student conduct action that is reflective of the severity of the policy violation.
